AgeTech NYC is the community of 500+ NYC-based founders, operators, and investors in AgeTech. I so enjoyed seeing the AgeTech community come together this week during Techweek, including at the inaugural AgeTech NYC happy hour we hosted as part of NYC #Techweek by a16z. It was wonderful to see so many folks from across the AgeTech ecosystem connecting. I’m biased, but I think the best part about AgeTech is the true sense of collaboration I feel from the community. This is a vertical built on the strength of a rising tide, and it shows in some of the smartest and most empathetic founders I’ve met in tech.

AgeTech NYC #Techweek Founder spotlight

Eve is an AI companion aimed at seniors who live alone, addressing loneliness and dementia. The Eve team (bootstrapped, launching June 24) have built a full-stack solution on the back-end, but what is really unique is the user experience: you talk to Eve on an old-fashioned (rotary) phone, just like the one this audience grew up with! Since the team pivoted to this form factor (they started as an app & smart speaker) they claim to be getting 1 hour+ of daily interaction with seniors who not only talk with Eve but also do cooking, yoga, games and even Time Travel with her….

AgeTech NYC #Techweek Event details

We were absolutely blown away by the quality and quantity of interest in AgeTech this Techweek! We had more than 260 folks on the waitlist for our 70-person event. Safe to say, AgeTech is alive and well in NYC.
